Squinches!?! Really? That's great - just the sort of word that we make up in my family. In fact, since I use the crazy old U.S. system of inches feet and miles, the term 'sq in' comes up regularly, and I usually pronounce it 'squinches'. Pretty wonderful to know that it's actually an important architectural/engineering term!
