Happy new year everyone! May 2023 be kind to all of us.
Back in Lebanon, it’s traditional for the first meal of the year to be white. While I sadly can’t email each of you some delicious kebbeh b’laban or mohallabiyeh to observe the custom, I’ve prepared a feast for the eyes instead, rummaging in my photos for images of light coming through. I offer them as a verbiage-free contemplation to begin this new circle around the sun.
